Dear Pam,
Yes, they really mean 100 pages. When I sent them my second book, it was less than 100 pages, but they worked with me until I got it to that length. I suggest playing around with page breaks, shorter poems, section headers, etc. We're not used to working with that kind of length as poets, but it leads to some interesting artistic choices...maybe being a little bit more brace with space and inclusion that we're used to, trying to keep our manuscripts to fifty-sixty pages for the usual contests. It's definitely worth sending to them! Take care, Jeannine

Hi Jeannine, I've been reading and enjoying your blog quietly for a few years. So I have a question about Kitsune Books submissions. The guidelines suggest 100 pages of MS for poetry. Do you know if they'd accept fewer pages. I have about 70-80 or so. And I like their publications...a really interesting range. But I'm concerned about that 100 pages! And don't want to send in an MS if they're very strict about the page thing.
Thanks for the guidance! best, Pam Hart
