Kristin: Thanks to you too! I’m currently talking to one publisher and the MS is out at a few more places as well…so hopefully a third book soon!
Martha – Yes, I spent seven years on a farm in Oak Ridge. My dad taught engineering at UT and consulted for ORNL on nuclear waste cleanup (with robots!) I wonder if our dads knew each other – send me his name and I’ll ask him?
Wish I could do more for Japan than I’m doing. So hard to help from over here.

J9, I had no idea you grew up in Oak Ridge, TN. I spent part of a summer there when I was kid while my dad studied nuclear physics with scientists there. He is my main source of information about what’s going on with nuclear reactors, but I am learning more as this disaster unfolds. Is that your poem in CR you posted? It’s amazing. Thanks for this post, and for all you are doing for disaster relief in Japan.

Much as I am looking forward to your 2nd book, I REALLY can't wait for the 3rd. I've always loved your science poems (I still remember when you were writing a poem for each element) and your poems that talk about nuclear issues.

Great poem here, and a great meditation to go with it.
