Yesterday Glenn threw me a little surprise-birthday party, just a little one at our house, but it was a lot of fun. There are not enough parties in the world, I think.
Michaela Eaves, the cover artist of Becoming the Villainess, brought me a bottle of wine with this label – which I don’t know if you can read in the picture: “Drinking the Villainess – Evil Tastes Good.” So funny, these artists! (Also, yes, that is a cat-coaster. Shut up. It was itself a gift of birthdays past.)
My cat Shakespeare was a hit with the ladies. He’s a fluffy little prima donna for sure.
Also, I am applying for jobs. It’s been a year since I graduated, and I think I am ready to get into the market again. I still have a gigantic stack of books to review – next up, Pattiann Rogers’ Wayfare.

How Lovely. ANd what a great idea: a book cover for a wine bottle label.
Happy Birthday!
