  • Zoom is exhausting. Because you can sort of see people, you are constantly (unconsciously) searching for the usual visual cues that you constantly (unconsciously) identify and process in face-to-face interactions. But because of the many limitations of video conferencing (tiny pictures, poor lighting, poor resolution, bad camera angles, etc.) you can’t actually pick up those cues for the most part and end up feeling frustrated and drained, even after positive conversations, without really knowing why. :-/

  • This is helpful to consider. I have used FaceTime and Jitsi to visit with family, but yes, felt “frustrated and drained” without understanding why.
