  • OMG: snowing already! It is COLD here, but no sign of snow yet.

Your AWP and Centrum gigs sounds fun. Wish I were going to be there.

  • As far as airline prices go, having most of your family near an airline hub is about the best blessing one could ask for in this modern world.

I don’t suppose you’re staying an extra day after AWP? Our largely-monthly has its February date on the 3rd, and you’ll only be a couple miles away….

  • I can’t wait to see you again! Please do stop by our table & say hello. Oh, I’m having a Sat. night mini get-together for my birthday (place TBD), and I’d love it if you & your hubby could stop by! See you soon!

  • I’ve never been to Centrum but have always wanted to go.

(PS-I have names of a couple of more affordable NYC boutique hotels but they probably aren’t close. Let me know if you want me to look ’em up.)

  • Dear Peter, yes, blizzards! Wish you could be there too!

    David, Yes, I’d love to…

Amanda – sounds fantastic – looking forward to seeing you again too!

Leslie – Yes, you should either visit the writer’s conference or apply for a residency out at Centrum – it’s really great for writing and just overall a peaceful-lonely-charming-landscape.
And Yes, I’d love to know about any and all cheap boutique hotels, even if they’re a bit of distance, in NYC.

  • It might be too late for this trip, and these are affordable only by NCY standards, but here they are:

    Incentra and the Abingdon Square:

Applying for a residency is a great idea. Hard to get away (and now that the dog’s been thrown out of doggie day care even harder), but worth considering.
